How to choose an internet service for your company?
When making your decision, you need to answer questions such as where, for what purpose, how many people and how they will use the internet. Here are some things to consider:
- What are the working hours of your colleagues? If everyone works in the office and uses software installed on their own computers, the bandwidth requirements are lower. If they are running cloud applications or need to access company servers from home, the necessary bandwidth is higher.
- Do you operate a central server, for example to manage company mail service or make the necessary data available for your colleagues working in home office? Such a system requires not only high bandwidth, but also stability and large SLA.
- How often do you need to send or receive large files? Your colleagues are unlikely to appreciate waiting for long periods of time staring at a spinning animation of file transfers on their monitor. And surely won’t be happy about intermittent video meetings.
- Does your company have any devices controlled or remotely monitored via the internet? You need to plan their network traffic over the “normal” use and uninterrupted availability is key.
- Would you like to offer Wi-Fi to your customers and clients? In this case your internet service needs to be fast, be able to serve many devices and have a high guaranteed bandwidth.
