Starlink is available from a Hungarian internet service provider

As a representative of an official Starlink reseller in Hungary, Vannet Telecommunications Ltd. is the first company to offer Starlink’s satellite internet service to business customers with Hungarian support. The fast and short latency technology opens up new perspectives for companies in places with poor internet coverage and as a secondary, backup service.

The best known fact about satellite internet is that it can provide truly seamless coverage in a given area, regardless of the terrestrial infrastructure. Its range of uses has evolved accordingly.

On the one hand, it is attractive in areas with poor internet availability. In Hungary, coverage is also quite good by European standards. However, there are still some white spots: areas outside the reach of optic fibre and repeater towers.

On the other hand, it is often used as a secondary internet connection by companies who do not want to risk the possible loss of a data traffic outage for whatever reason. If you have a backup service on hand, it will take over if the primary connection goes down. It is logical to choose not only another service provider but also another technology for this purpose.

However, satellite internet has some technical limitations. For example, typically all customer traffic is carried over a single satellite, which limits the bandwidth available.

This is where the US-based Starlink has broken into the market, and business customers can now use it to contract with a Hungarian company. Starlink’s business services are marketed in Hungary by Vannet, a representative of an official Starlink reseller. Hungarian-language product support and customer service, which has been missing until now, is also provided.

The technology that makes Starlink so attractive has revolutionised the way data is transmitted not via a single satellite, but via thousands of satellites. The advantages thus gained make it competitive with terrestrial solutions.

For example, the service can provide up to 350 megabits and, because the satellites orbit much closer to the ground than usual, latency is very short. The internet connection can do virtually everything that traditional solutions can do. Including large data uploads and downloads and video conferencing. With these parameters, it can meet the needs of the majority of domestic businesses.
