MET Hungary Solar Park Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Swiss-based MET Group. It has significant ambitions in the field of renewable energy production in the Central and Eastern European region. They currently operate five industrial solar power plants in Hungary. The largest of these is the MET Buzsák Solar Park in Somogy, which has the capacity to supply more than 40,000 households with electricity.
Online system monitoring is an extremely useful and impressive feature of modern solar power systems. It allows the remote monitoring of the operation of the power plant and make all the current and historical data available via the internet. However, this requires a stable and reliable internet connection.
“As our solar power plants are located on the outskirts, where fibre cables do not reach. Therefore, Vannet brought us the solution to operate online system monitoring. In addition to the primary leased line internet connection at two of our power plants, they also proposed the installation of a secondary backup line. Their expertise ensured us redundancy, i.e. uninterrupted internet access, which is essential for the operation of the power plant,” summarised Zoltán Joo, the company’s Central European Development and Construction Division Manager.
